Have your evening meal near the magnificent Cloth Hall in a restaurant located in the Grote Markt, the heart of the charming old town of Ypres, Belgium. This Day Tour takes you north of Arras to explore the village and battlefields of Fromelles, where Australians are forever remembered.
We cross the border into Belgium and climb up onto the ridge of the Ypres Salient where we will spend the remainder of our day. Attendance at the emotive Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate is an absolute must. A long day out on the battlefields where a good night’s rest is a given.

Itinerary
Depart from Arras around 9.00 am.
- View the former Mass Grave site, Fromelles.
- Visit to the Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery.
- Visit to the Australian Memorial Park and Cobber’s Statue, Fromelles.
- Visit to the all Australian VC Corner Cemetery.
- Visit the Official 1914 Christmas Truce site, Belgium.
- Visit to Hill 60.
Lunch is next to Polygon Wood.
- Visit to Polygon Wood and the Australian 5th Division Memorial.
- Visit to the Passchendaele Museum.
- Visit to the Tyne Cot Commonwealth War Cemetery.
- Enter into Ypres via Menin Gate.
Dinner is in Ypres.
- Attend Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate.
Depart for Arras at around 8.30pm. Arrival in Arras at around 9.30pm.
All tours are based in the old town of Arras. We can recommend accommodation in hotels or guest houses our clients have happily stayed at.
Pick-up/drop-off is at your Arras accommodation or at the Arras train station.
